The station's copper is held in its generating plant rather than as loose scrap: armature windings still seated in the stator core, rotor copper on the shaft, and the bar and connection copper behind the casings. One generator has already been opened and stripped of its copper shell, so the recovery route is proven on site rather than assumed. Material is sold on weight against independent inspection.
